Moms and Mother’s Day a Tradition in Great Kills Restaurant

Prix-Fixe Dinner Menu and wonderful surroundings help make Mansion Grand, featuring Alissia’s Café, a perfect setting for honoring mom

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (May 7, 2014) – The driving force behind Mother’s Day celebrations on Staten Island is the same across America: Love, respect and admiration for mothers. The day is very special and very personal, as it places mom at center stage and embraces memories and traditions within families.

The creation of Mother’s Day was due to Anna Jarvis, who organized observances in Grafton, W.Va., and Philadelphia on May 10, 1908.

As the annual celebration became popular around the country, Ms. Jarvis asked members of Congress to set aside a day to honor mothers. She succeeded in 1914, when Congress designated the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.

On Sunday, the folks at the Mansion Grand, featuring Alissia’s Café, will participate in the day inspired by Ms. Jarvis by welcoming guests with specially prepared Mother’s Day dinners.

The menu will feature a complete prix-fixe Mother’s Day dinner, along with an additional menu designed specifically for kids.

Mother’s Day dinner at the Mansion Grand, featuring Alissia’s Café, is designed to provide a wonderful experience, where guests can enjoy wonderful cuisine amid smartly designed décor and view of Great Kills Harbor.
